KCTCS and UK announce bid to boost transfers
Includes More Than $1 Million In New Scholarships

Versailles, KY (Jan. 23, 2007)—In a joint appearance today at a UK Board of Trustees meeting, Kentucky Community and Technical College (KCTCS) President Michael B. McCall and UK’s Lee Todd unveiled plans for targeted scholarships to help increase the number of graduates and others from KCTCS two-year programs who transfer to UK for four-year degrees.

20th annual JCTC Career/Allied Health Fair set for Feb. 1
Jefferson Community & Technical College will hold its 20th annual Career/Allied Health Fair from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Feb. 1, 2007, in the VTI Building, 110 W. Chestnut St., on the college’s Downtown Campus at Second and Chestnut Streets.

For many students just the thought of math class makes them worry. Will I understand it? Can I pass the class? Why do I need math anyway?  But of course, math is an integral part of everyday life and a critical skill in many of the professions Jefferson students will enter. So the college has embarked on a five-year process to change the way students think about math and the way some math classes are taught. It is a program known as Jefferson Counts and it is JCTC’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).
