Health Information Technology program earns accreditation
Jefferson Community and Technical College’s newest allied health program, Health Information Technology, has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management.

Jefferson student named to KCTCS Board of Regents
VERSAILLES, Ky. (August 31, 2006) – A Jefferson Community and Technical College student was among eight new members named to the Board of Regents for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.

Leclara Hamblen, president of JCTC’s Student Government, was appointed to represent general education students. She was selected after an application and interview process conducted among college presidents from all 16 KCTCS institutions.

Learn Anytime is college at your convenience; enroll today
It’s college like you never dreamed of. Start the class whenever you are ready for it and work at the pace that suits you; finish in just a few weeks or take as much time as you need, up to five months.

It’s Learn Anytime, a new program of Jefferson Community and Technical College, offered completely over the Internet. The program is part of Jefferson’s extensive eLearning program and works in partnership with Jefferson County Public Schools eSchool program and Kentucky Virtual University. However, unlike most on-line courses, which have required start and end dates, Learn Anytime programs are “open-entry, open-completion,” allowing students ultimate flexibility in their college experience.

For many students just the thought of math class makes them worry. Will I understand it? Can I pass the class? Why do I need math anyway?  But of course, math is an integral part of everyday life and a critical skill in many of the professions Jefferson students will enter. So the college has embarked on a five-year process to change the way students think about math and the way some math classes are taught. It is a program known as Jefferson Counts and it is JCTC’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).
